FREE SPARRING with Mst. James Hogan

Summary of what I remembered

Blocks the kicks,

Side kick = hugging self,

Must chin down

hands to chin and push kick away (turning kicks)

Block a punch to nose = palm to head.

Stance; = walking stance with 15 degrees pointing in; one hand to chin, chin down + another hand protect navel/solar plex.

Movement:

Always Leading leg move, + blocking kicks

Front leg half step 6oclock, turn facing 3oclock, (do same to back leg).

Back kick, =mule kick

Use the hips and leading knee (bend) for power kicks. (spin/hook on leading knee, keeping knees bend and relax).

Use the hips for power punches.

Keep your body small = reduce kicking areas=crouching a bit the body

LOOK at the solar plexes (center) not the EYES of your opponent

Need shin guards and hand guards for this kind of sparring.

Block the kick vs Evading the kick

sparring leg position vs standing tall

Measuring your attack range and cutting 15degrees to attack (sidesteps, with leading not back leg)

Once attack/points , run out of range, don;t stay there.

Recipe for 'sleepless nights'

Recipe for 'sleepless nights'

By FARIDAH BEGUM

FORGET Viagra.

Try this natural home-made recipe which has almonds and honey among its ingredients.

The simple-to-brew drink is said to be more effective. And it costs a fraction of the blue pill.

Women can also have it but be warned. This is really potent and it may cause you sleepless nights (wink, wink).

Recipe:

200ml milk (fresh, UHT, anything)

6 almonds or 1 tablespoon ground almonds (skinned and pounded or ground – if you want a quick fix, then buy ground almonds from the store)

1 egg (preferably free range eggs or ayam kampung eggs – must be fresh)

1 tablespoon honey (Tualang honey is very good!)

Heat the milk up until it is warm. In a blender, blend all the ingredients together for a minute and ENJOY!

RANGER UPDATE

Jun 24 2010, 12:24 AM
Post #4

Just to keep the thread complete and updated.
I got some ideas on the subject here: http://pinoyfortuner.14.forumer.com/a/shoc...s_post2134.html

My story: I got tempted to change my original absorbers after 58,000 km (I think it's pretty reasonable number). I never been off-road, so my shocks/damper are in good shape. I do carry loads and that made it nicer to drive the truck loaded (at least 200kgs). My original shocks were soft, I grew to like them soft, but a firmer ride helps my cornering ability, I value that and over time ( 3 weeks later) I enjoyed my shocks better. ( Trucks feels like loaded even when it is not) It was very firm initially but gradually got better and even my wife appreciates the ride quality, yes, I caved and I got "pedders" in the end. (pedders trak ryder, 9100 ) You can see it online.
Extra 10 points for "Hey, my wife enjoys the truck ride, that's $$$ well spent to me! "

Running and Taekwondo #1

The running and taekwondo cross training has been in place for 2 months.

Results after two months.
My runs timing is the same as 2010. But I am running less.
I increased body mass due to punching and boxing.
now my weight is 73-75kg, while last year 70kg.
With the increase in mass, I still can run, meaning my legs are stronger.

But there is spare tires and tummy that cannot be removed with a once a week running.
Monday -run, Tues-tkd, Wed: run., Thurs-Tkd, Fri-Kickboxing (sat/sun=rest)/
SO, I need to run twice a week. and my current pace is 6 min 12secs. per km.

I am using a water bottle to add weight/resistant and to hydrate myself.

Objective: Increase the pace (min/km)
Able to do Moon-Moo

Kickboxing is helping with my punches and I like the muscles around my arms (no weights lifting).

Running is the only way my tummy is flatter. The stomach exercise is for toning.
