Why I shot this.

Some shots are precious, I like action of this sort. Timing them proved challenging yet satisfying when it's captured.

I fired flash and anticipated the kick. As my flash needs time to recycle it's battery power, I can only afford up to 3 shots continuously. This proved enough in this case. I chose this outstretched kick as it has dramatic impact. A wide angle was chosen @ 18mm on a DX body and that's precisely what I wanted. To show the students watching and learning the fight.
